Lamp Base for "Hemingray-60" Glass Insulators, Industrial Lighting, Man Cave Deco, Neo Victorian Lamp design, Cyberpunk Lamp
BYOI - Bring you own insulator
This attractive, contemporary lamp base fits the following glass insulators:
- Hemingray-60 (CD 257) - "Mickey Mouse"
It embraces a unique, modern, industrial, techno look, perfect for you loft or mid-century eclectic décor.
This gorgeous lamp would also be a great accessory for your Lanai or 4 Season porch. And it makes a great addition to any man cave.
The base light uses a 2-watt LED light bulb, available in 4 different LED colors.
It has a 5 1/2 ' black cord with an in cord on / off switch.
Note:
- I recommend green LEDs for Turquoise (green) and blue LEDs for aqua insulators
- The base does not include a LED light bulb. LED light bulbs are available for an extra fee.
- The pictures use a blue, green, and white LED bulb
- This lamp base kit is available with or without the Aqua Hemingray-60 glass insulator
- The insulator has some damage at the lower ring

History
History
This very popular cable style insulator is nicknamed the "Mickey Mouse" by collectors for its trademark ears and was produced in two versions: a regular saddle groove and a wide saddle groove (later denoted as №60-A) to accommodate larger cables. The design was patented on June 17, 1890, and earliest specimens produced by Hemingray simply bear the May 2, 1893, and June 17, 1890, patent dates. These come in a range of clears, blues and greens, with the electric blue color being the most desirable (not to be confused with the much more common Hemingray Blue!)

Steampunk
The creative reuse of old vintage glass insulators as Steampunk lamps puts these old design icons back in the hands of people, out of dark basements and attics. The beauty of the steampunk design pieces is their versatility – you can treat them as feature piece or liberally use them throughout any contemporary space.
